Keep your whiskey in the dark?

Whisky can be a great long term investment if you store it correctly. Whisky expert Andy Bell takes you through some of the best ways to store and protect your whisky in this step-by-step guide.

Top Tips

  • Keep your whisky in a dark place, such as a cupboard, away from direct sunlight and overpowering heat, such as heaters or radiators.
  • Store the bottle in an upright position. If the bottle is on its side, the alcohol will burn into the cork and your whisky will slowly evaporate.
  • If you’re a whisky collector, store your bottles in a sealed cardboard box inside a locked, dark cupboard.
